This wonderful piece of Mammoth history will be auctioned off along with a Mammoth replica Blackout jersey the artist wore during his show. Money from the auction will be donated to local cancer charities.

The Colorado Mammoth lost another heartbreaker, 15-14, at home to the Washington Stealth in front of 15,102 fans Friday night at Pepsi Center. While the loss was a heartbreaker, fans were treated to an “amazing” halftime performance by Brian Olsen.

Denver Artist Brian Olsen Among Blackout Night Highlights

It’s “A Big Game For a Bigger Battle” tonight as the Mammoth host the Washington Stealth on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center.  The Mammoth has also announced that Denver’s own action painter, Brian Olsen, will be lending his awe-inspiring talent to benefit the Mammoth’s Blackout Cancer Night festivities presented by Windish RV.  During tonight’s halftime show, Olsen will perform live for spectators, creating a one-of-a-kind custom Mammoth painting.
Using fingertips, palms, elbows and up to three brushes in each hand, Brian paints portraits of famous people including musicians, sports figures, and top corporate heads on a four-and-a-half by six-foot canvas in just a matter of minutes.  His creations are choreographed to music that is powerful and stimulates the senses.  Brian’s Art in Action is described as “an emotional experience” taking his audience through an amazing journey of excitement, suspense, cheer, and surprise.  His ability to captivate his audience and share the experience of color, music, and action is a way to bring people into the world of art and creativity.  It is a new art form that brings people together to share the explosion of art and stir up the personal creativity we all have within.
“We are very excited to have Brian coming in tonight to help us celebrate this great cause,” noted Mammoth President and General Manager Steve Govett.  “I’ve seen him in action before and it’s really amazing what he can do in such a short amount of time.  Our fans are in for a real treat.”
Mammoth fans are encouraged to come to Pepsi Center tonight dressed in black and show their support for a cure.  Each time the Mammoth scores, Pepsi Center will go dark in celebration!  Additionally, the team will be wearing unique, black jerseys as well as pink helmets for this wonderful cause.
Free face painting will be available on Pepsi Center’s concourse at the game and donations will be collected for cancer research.
Next week, fans will have the opportunity to bid on Olsen’s one-of-a-kind painting, a unique piece of Mammoth history, through a special online auction.  Also up for auction will be the actual, game-worn Mammoth jerseys and helmets from tonight’s game.  Proceeds will benefit cancer research and awareness.
Tickets for tonight’s 7pm contest are still available at the Pepsi Center box office and all TicketHorse locations.
